In the early 1900s Burpham was in the Parish of Worplesdon and together with Jacob’s Well was essentially one large, scattered, community.
The Order of Service - Dedication of the Memorial on August 22nd, 1920
We are very grateful to the descendant family who have kept this Order of Service sheet for the 94 years since the service.
It is one of their treasured possessions although it has suffered the ravages of time.

Walter Wisdom, MM is not listed on this sheet.
He name was added to the memorial later.
A very brave soldier, being awarded the Military Medal, he died in France from illness rather than war wounds and, sadly, and initially, was not included for this reason.
