‘Burpham Will Remember Them’

In the early 1900s Burpham was in the Parish of Worplesdon and together with Jacob’s Well was essentially one large, scattered, community.

How you can help

As you can see from our project aims page we have formed a Community Project Team to research, document and prepare the history of the men remembered on the memorial. By displays and presentations we want to bring the men and the community they left behind to life.

In order to do this we need your help in identifying photographs, documents and the history of those 18 men.

We want to trace the descendants of the 18 men and if feasible include them in our activities. Do you have any information or contact details that would allow us the opportunity to speak with them.

We also want to research other Burpham men who fought in the war; we again would seek your help in locating documents that we will allow us to bring their story to life.

If you have any information or would like to help us in any way, no matter how small, then please contact us at:

info@burpham1914.org.uk

or at:

Burpham will remember them c/o 33 Coltsfoot drive, Guildford, GU1 1YG.

Please do not send us any original photographs or documents, please let us know that you have them and we will make arrangements to have them copied in order to protect them.
